About
How did I get here?
It's been a winding road, with unexpected benefits. Starting in the early 90's at Whitman College, Foreign Languages and Literatures/Spanish degree in hand, I moved to Arizona and trained as a graphic designer. All the while playing music in local blues and R & B acts and working with these bands in local studios.
I helped design a bass amplifier for car stereos, a career highlight, and designed various kitchen and bath products and DVD packaging sold nationwide (in the US) in stores like Home Depot and Walmart.
Most recently I've been involved with very important work on medical software, highlighting the importance of design on clinical safety.
In 2009 I embarked on a project to combine all my design skills and technical talents, a web application called Ratemoon, to help New Zealanders find "What's good around here". 2010 will be a growth year for Ratemoon as more entries are added across the nation.
