Connecting Sales and Marketing to the Development Team

We use Business Analysis / Interaction Design / Web Design to connect Sales and Marketing to their Development Team in order to complete websites and web-based software. Increasingly tech companies see a need to have an intermediary to communicate between these two groups. We do this and we do it well with good requirements gathering and lo fidelity mockups in Balsamiq Mockups.

A Diverse Work History

Dirt and Rust began in print design more than 15 years ago back when graphic design and "desktop publishing" as terms were interchangable, fully transitioning to web design in 2008. With a passion in Usability we keep typical users in mind (Personas). Dirt and Rust is a member of UX Book Club - Auckland and IxDA which help me stay current with the latest on usability, improving the interaction between human and machine.

The Mission is Simple

To solve design problems. We love things that are designed so well they are self-explanatory.

Other projects

In 2009 I embarked on a project to combine all my design skills and technical talents, a web application called Ratemoon, to help New Zealanders find "What's good around here". In short, Ratemoon is search + ratings for a more powerful and personalised local search engine. It's a prime example of putting all my theory into practice, as it started from pencil sketches and went through lo fi mockups to the current design.
